Custom Container Planting

Market Basket can custom plant any container you purchase or provide us.  You can pick your own plants or trust our knowledgeable staff to do it for you.  Our talented team will make sure you have the color scheme and texture you desire and within the budget you specify. We have a wide variety of annuals, tropical plants and greenery that will make any container a bright, colorful addition to your outdoor space. Look in magazines for inspiration or simply ask us. We're always willing to help!

Planting Service Fees

The planting fee is half of the original retail price of the plants.  Container and soil will be added to this price.  Allow up to 1 day for planting. All containers must be picked up within 24 hours.

Tips for Creating Show-stopper Container Gardens

There are general rules of thumb to follow when choosing plants and textures for creating a dynamic, eye-catching container of summer's bounty. In general, follow these guidelines and your containers will be the highlight of your outdoor spaces.

Mix it up
Mix soft shades of pink and purple and plants that have loose, open shapes. Try petunias, licorice plant, and verbena.

Use Contrasting Colors
Use different shades of purple to contrast with a salmon geranium. Bright yellows also get a lot of attention.

Add a touch of the Tropics
Bold colors mixed with tropical plants are a great combo. Hibiscus adds appeal for larger containers and there are a variety of other tropical plants great for containers.

Add Ornamental Grasses for Height
You can use ornamental grasses to add height and texture to any planting. Try purple fountaingrass to add extra color, too.

Don't Forget the Shade
Try a mix of white Begonia, pink or salmon Impatients and a mix of sweet potato vine for trails of color in shady locations.
